4 tablespoons of popping corn
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
Salt to taste
In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over a medium heat until almost smoking. Add the popping corn and stir to ensure all of the corn is coated in oil.
When the corn looks as though it's about to pop, stir in the brown sugar and place a tight fitting lid on top. Shake the pan occasionally as the corn pops. After 2-3 minutes, the popping will begin to slow down as all of the popcorn is cooked.
Remove the pan from the heat and stand for 1 minute. Empty the popcorn into a large serving bowl and season to taste with salt.
